I am directed by Secretary Sir E. Grey to acknowledge the receipt of your letter No.45089 of the 6th instant relative to Indian agitators in Manila and to transmit to you herewith copy of a despatch to His Majesty's Acting Consul General in Kanila.

Sir E. Grey would be glad if the Secretary

of state for the Colonies would instruct the Governor

of Hongkong to keep Mr. Harrington informed of any further correspondence with United States Officials in Manila or Hong Kong on this question.
